I wanted to design a sturdy bag that could hold all my sketchbooks and essentials while traveling, and also show my emotional, social, or attentional battery level when I’m out with friends. Included are four embroidered star patches in different colors, each representing a different emotional state. I painted different illustrations for the front and back of the bag, so when you don't want to show your current mood level, you can either leave the star off or simply turn the bag around.
Mood Indicator Suggestions
Here’s how I use mine, but feel free to give the colors your own meaning:
I’m stable and present – happy to engage and ready for the day
I’m a bit sensitive or distractible, but can still pull myself together
I’m emotionally reactive or overwhelmed – only reach out if really needed
I’m at zero – not available to talk, please don’t approach unless it’s urgent
