Comment by the Artist
Sometimes, it can be a real struggle to get started on a task, no matter how much we actually want to do it. Even if we understand that it’s ADHD affecting us, how can we explain this in a tangible way to others without them thinking we’re just making excuses?

During an argument with my then-partner in the kitchen, I came up with the metaphor of “buttons” as ADHD motivation currency - or rather, as a way to explain executive dysfunction through a lack thereof.

This poster explains:

  • Why buttons sometimes seem not to exist
  • Why buttons can unreliably appear or disappear
  • How to get buttons
  • Why it’s not a lack of willpower
  • How our loved ones can support us

Perfect for ADHD Awareness Month, or simply as a daily reminder that there’s no reason to feel ashamed when you have trouble getting started.

Key Details
  • Dimensions: Two posters, each 75 × 41 cm / 29.5 × 16.1 in
  • Designed to be displayed side by side
  • Printed with high-resolution inkjet technology on 200 gsm paper
  • Optimized for sharp image quality and rich color depth
  • Securely rolled in a cardboard tube and wrapped in protective film
How to Care for It
  • Unroll carefully after unpacking – slight curl from shipping is normal
  • For best results, weigh down corners with flat objects for a few hours or overnight
  • Printed on glossy, coated paper – surface is relatively resistant to smudges and light marks
  • Minor stains or water-based pen marks can often be removed gently with a soft, damp cloth
  • For display, we recommend a frameless acrylic glass mount
